A new genus and two new species of Scolytinae (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae) From Peru
Currently, the Neotropical kingdom remains a “white spot” for entomologists. The author studied
the bark beetle fauna in Peru in 1997 and in the period from 2005 to 2014 in the forests of the departments of Cuzco, Huanuco, Junin, Loreto.
The research resulted in descriptions of new Scolytinae species from the Satipo province (Junin Department). A
new species of bark beetle from the genus Cnesinus LeConte, 1868 (Curculionidae: Scolytinae) C. vorontsovi was described from forests in the vicinity
of the village of Rio Venado (Capiro River).
