New species of the genus Geogryllus (Orthoptera: Gryllidae: Gryllinae)
from Peru and Ecuador
Abstract. The genus Geogryllus Otte et Perez-Gelabert, 2009 is recorded from South America. Three
new species of this genus are described: G. mezai sp. nov. and G. doderoae sp. nov. from Peru as well as
G. nubilosus sp. nov. from Ecuador.
These species differ from other congeners mainly in the structure of
male tegmina and male genitalia as well as in some peculiarities of the body colouration and the shape of head.
