ACRENAP Celebrates 25 Years: A Quarter-Century of Protecting Peruvian Nature

The 25th anniversary of ACRENAP marks a significant milestone that we celebrate today. Over a quarter-century, the Association for the Development and Conservation of Natural Resources of Peru (ACRENAP) has achieved great success: publishing over 100 scientific papers on flora and fauna, and discovering over 1,300 new taxa.

One of our most impressive achievements in these 25 years has been the discovery of more than 1,300 new taxa, which represents an enormous contribution to global science. These findings were made in 42 countries worldwide, underscoring the global scale of our research. Each new species is not just a scientific discovery, but another step toward understanding and preserving the fragility of our planet.

We actively participate in international initiatives like the UNFCCC. Our involvement in the COP 28 and COP 29 conferences, as well as the SB 60 and SB 62 meetings, it allows us to share our experience and knowledge, contributing to global climate change adaptation activities. We believe that real results can only be achieved through joint efforts, and the ACRENAP anniversary is a chance to remember that.

We are grateful to our partners and everyone who supports our mission. Their support helps us continue our research, implement educational programs, and protect nature for future generations.

We invite you to join us to continue  mission of protecting the environment together! Our work never stops, and we look forward to a future full of new challenges and discoveries.
