Long-term Fruitful Cooperation in the Field of Entomological Research
International cooperation is the key to our common success!

Summing up the results of the passing year and evaluating the success in project implementation for 2021–2025, we note with satisfaction the significance of the results obtained and recall with gratitude the contribution of each participant in this complex, long-term work. Along with the local specialists involved, foreign partners and researchers have made a great contribution.

Among them is the naturalist, traveler, and Doctor of Philosophy Yuri Alekseevich Bezverkhov (LLC "Kronos", trademark COIOC), who has been a permanent member of our organization's research group for more than 15 years and takes an active part in programs to study the biodiversity of the Amazon region. His direct participation in numerous research projects in Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and Venezuela, as well as his experience as an entomologist gained during expeditions to Southeast Asia and Africa, allowed for the popularization of the results at a high level. These works were published in the form of specialized books about orchids, Amazonian butterflies, and longhorn beetles of the Peruvian selva

It is also worth noting his co-authorship in the study and publication of generalized research results on the fauna of Central Peru. This work was carried out within the framework of a project to create and register the Avireri-Vraem Biosphere Reserve in the UNESCO "Man and the Biosphere" (MAB) program—the largest in Peru and one of the largest terrestrial reserves in South America.

As a token of gratitude for his invaluable assistance and contribution to the taxonomy of invertebrate fauna, many species new to science and a new genus of Orthoptera were named after Yuri Bezverkhov. This once again emphasizes his merits to the scientific community and preserves his memory as a naturalist who sincerely cares about nature conservation. Some butterfly species from his personal discoveries have joined the entomological collections of museums in various countries.

Based on plans for the near future (2026–2030), we express our hope that Dr. Yuri Alekseevich Bezverkhov, as part of an international group of specialists, will continue to participate in studies of the invertebrate fauna of the entire Amazon region. This work will take place within the framework of the ACRENAP association's strategic plan until 2030 and programs for studying the consequences of global climate change. These initiatives correspond to the decisions of international summits such as COP28, COP29, and especially COP30, where our organization acts as an official observer and member of UN working groups on science and the environment.
